When they searched his phones, they found something that set off alarm bells: a list of 26 potential kidnapping victims, all chosen for their wealth. Among the public figures was Kylian Mbappé.
It all began to come to light after the robbery of a watchmaker in Neuilly-sur-Seine, where luxury jewelry worth around 165.000 dollars was stolen. Two days after his arrest, Clément was charged with robbery by an organized gang.
The case adds to a wave of kidnappings targeting wealthy individuals that has shaken France since 2025, with more than 25 people already charged in various similar cases.
