“They summoned me and here I am”: the actor behind McLovin put on Argentina’s jersey again, and fans wouldn’t let him go 👀🇦🇷 Christopher Mintz-Plasse, the 37-year-old actor everyone remembers as McLovin in “Superbad”, was up to his old tricks again.

An hour before the semifinal between Argentina and England, he stood in front of the mirror wearing the Albiceleste jersey and wrote on X: “I’m never on Twitter anymore, but I heard rumors that I’d been summoned. LET’S DO THIS”.

The phrase blew up. Hundreds of Argentines replied with the same urgency used when asking a lifelong friend for a favor: “Don’t let us down on Sunday, please”, someone pleaded. Another was more direct: “Scaloni, McLovin is Argentine”.

The curious thing is that this didn’t start now. Mintz-Plasse had already painted his face and put on the jersey at Brazil 2014, and did it again at Qatar 2022. All of it, he said, because of a group of Argentine friends who got him hooked forever. Eleven years later, he still shows up right when he’s needed most. 🇦🇷⚽
