Jameela Jamil doesn’t usually mince her words, and some remarks she made months ago have gone viral again.
In an interview for the Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky podcast, published on February 3, 2026, the British actress and activist questioned the way children are raised and delivered a line that particularly caught people’s attention: “Boys aren’t raised to be men. Boys are simply raised not to be girls”.

Jamil continued her reflection, asserting that “that is the crisis in our society” and that “there are no real role models”, because boys are simply told what they should not be. She also criticized how, from a young age, they are taught to reject any trait considered feminine.

Now, her words are circulating on social media again and have reopened the debate about how masculinity is constructed.
