In a neighborhood in Argentina, a 45-year-old shopkeeper identified as Carlos Rodríguez became enraged after discovering through his supermarket’s security cameras that a man had stolen merchandise from him, and he immediately went out to look for him until he found Sergio Nieva, 49, at his own home, where according to the shopkeeper’s statement, the accused pulled out a bladed weapon and tried to attack him, at which point Rodríguez managed to subdue him and tied him to his Ford Ranger pickup truck to drag him several blocks down the street.

Images recorded by neighbors show the man tied to the vehicle while he was dragged for about 600 meters, and during the route the shopkeeper kept hitting him while saying phrases such as “Ask me and I’ll give it to you. This is what I do to rats like you. Now go and report me”, as can be heard in a video aired by the outlet InfoZC, before the astonished gaze of neighborhood residents.

It was Carlos Rodríguez himself who called the Police to report that he had detained the suspect accused of robbing him, and when the officers arrived they found Sergio Nieva tied to a tree, with injuries to his face and limbs, and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital under arrest for the crime of theft, while the shopkeeper was charged with causing injuries but his detention was not ordered.
