Messi doesn’t always win with the ball. His foundation contributed the 2,6 million euros needed to complete funding for a center supporting children with cancer, within Sant Joan de Déu Hospital.
Together with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, he completed a project that cost nearly 30 million euros and today operates as one of the world’s most advanced centers for childhood cancer.
The building has more than 5.100 square meters and brings diagnosis, treatment, research, and family support together under one roof.
Since it opened its doors, it has treated around 400 children per year. Messi put his name and his money where they were needed most: in the health of those who can least afford to wait.
