They got it in mid-June, just after the first group-stage matches had ended, at Brown Pride Tattoo Shop, with the confidence of someone already celebrating the title. 🐐🏆
The problem is that football doesn’t read tattoos. Mexico fell 3 to 2 against England at Estadio Azteca, in the round of 16, just when the tattoo still smelled like Vaseline. The video of the moment they got it done started circulating everywhere again, but no longer as a promise: now as evidence.
Social media showed no mercy. Memes, mockery, and even serious debates about whether their blind faith jinxed the team. In the end, the tattoo is still there, intact, reminding them every day that football and certainty don’t get along well. 😂⚽
