Michael Schoeffling became the crush of an entire generation when he played Jake Ryan in Sixteen Candles (1984). However, after several years working in Hollywood, he left acting in 1991 and chose a completely different life.

He settled in Pennsylvania with his family and devoted himself to making handcrafted furniture, a trade he was already practicing while still appearing in films. Since then, he has stayed away from the cameras and carefully protected his private life.

More than three decades later, his story continues to surprise: he traded fame for peace and film sets for a woodworking shop. 🪵🎬
