On Thursday, August 13, she shared a video on TikTok in which she read, one by one, the taunts she receives every day: that she is too fat, that she is disgusting, that she should cover up, that nobody wants her like that. Instead of angrily defending herself, she chose a phrase that said it all: “Sorry, I couldn’t hear you over how good I look”. She paired it with an audio clip that spoke straight to the heart of anyone who has ever felt singled out: shine, even if your light bothers some people.
This is not the first time the American model has turned hate into a lesson. In May, she had already responded to those who suggested weight-loss medication, and the year before, she explained, with a disarming honesty, that people in larger bodies are judged no matter what they do. Her message, delivered with laughter and firmness, remains the same: no one has the right to decide how you should feel about your own body.
