Influencer Natalie Reynolds decided that conventional workout clothes were too boring and opted for a radical alternative: painting “pants” directly onto her body, a process that took her more than five hours.

A fact she documented in a video that went viral and put her at the center of a media storm over the limits of acceptable attire in physical training spaces.

In the video, Reynolds can be seen working out calmly while a man approaches to enforce the gym’s rules, pointing out that her outfit was not appropriate and that it represented a lack of respect toward the other users.

The reactions were immediate, and while some defended her right to express herself artistically, many others harshly criticized her, calling her attitude “morally repugnant”, also explaining that it represents a hygiene risk for the entire gym community.

Which ultimately led Reynolds to issue a public apology, although the video had already amassed thousands of views and sparked an intense debate about dress codes in shared spaces.
