In a field in Turkey, a tractor was moving in a straight line toward a nest hidden in the soil. No one had seen it. No one, except the mother who had her eggs there. The moment was recorded by farmer Efkan Kerti, who was driving the tractor and later shared the footage on his account @tarimdairhayat.
Instead of fleeing, the bird did the opposite: she stood right in front of the wheel, spread her wings completely, and remained still, as if measuring her strength against a machine one hundred times bigger than she was. She did not back down even when the tractor was inches away from crushing her.
The farmer noticed the desperate flapping and stopped just in time. There, beneath the chassis, he discovered the nest intact. An instinct as small as the bird itself was enough to save her young.
