Linda Jones is 39 years old and was already a mother of three when she found out she was expecting triplets.
They were born on January 10, at 34 weeks, after she was hospitalized for high blood pressure.
While her babies remained hospitalized in the NICU, Linda began pumping milk every 2 or 3 hours so she could feed them. During the first few days, only colostrum came out. Then, nothing. But on the third day, she felt that her breasts were completely full, and when she looked at her armpits, she noticed something she did not expect: they were swollen, tight, and full of breast milk. 🤱
What happened to Linda has a medical name: breast engorgement in accessory breast tissue, a remnant of the so-called ‘milk line’ that some women have from birth, located right in the armpit.
It is estimated that up to 6% of women are born with this extra tissue, although almost none discover it until they breastfeed. Linda filmed her swollen armpits six days after giving birth, and the video went viral within hours.
