Dafne Zapata Quintos Martínez was 13 years old when she entered a summer camp at the Marina Doenitz Militarized Academy in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas.

Four days later, they called her and her mother to tell them that the girl had become ill. When Alejandra Quintos asked them to take her to a hospital, it was already too late: her daughter had died.

The institution said she fainted while bathing. But the death certificate mentions third-party involvement, and the autopsy found water in the minor’s lungs.

Dafne’s classmates say she was in pain and had injuries, and that the instructors separated her from the group shortly before she died.

Days have passed and not a single person has been arrested. Alejandra directly asked President Claudia Sheinbaum for help, who responded that the case falls under the Tamaulipas government.

Governor Américo Villarreal has not said a word. Meanwhile, a mother continues demanding justice for her daughter. 💔
