Behind a cesarean section lies much more than what a scar can show.
Muhoza Trivia Elle, Uganda’s representative at Miss World 2026, brought that reality to the runway with a dress inspired by the seven surgical layers that must be passed through during a cesarean section.
Each level of the design sought to represent one of those layers of the body and transform a procedure that millions of women have experienced into a visible piece before the world. More than speaking solely about birth, the intention was also to acknowledge everything a mother physically goes through to bring her child into the world.
The dress quickly drew attention on social media, where many people highlighted that behind its striking design was a message that often remains hidden beneath clothing: a cesarean section is major surgery, and the scar left on the skin is only the part we can see.
This time, the runway did not seek to hide those marks, but to make them part of the dress.
