Cristiano Ronaldo is 40 years old and continues playing as if he were 28.

In 2019, he said it bluntly: “90% of my success is maintaining my physical condition. You have to take care of yourself; if you don’t, no one will do it for you”. It’s not a phrase to inflate his social media presence. It’s his real routine: Pilates, swimming, weightlifting, and even up to five 90-minute naps so his body can recover between training sessions. He doesn’t set foot in the gym every day — he knows that fatigue on the pitch costs more than a day of rest.

In 2025, now with more than two decades of his career behind him, he confirmed it again: he sleeps seven hours every night because, according to him, “the night is the only time when you can recover everything you did during the day”. His diet is 90% discipline, with occasional indulgences such as a pizza with his son. No magic formulas: taking care of the body, for Ronaldo, is simply respecting the time he has left ahead.
