“When you succeed, do not forget your mother and father”. That was the advice a father repeated to his children for years while doing everything possible to put food on the table. Today, after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, those words have become his son’s greatest motivation to keep fighting.

The story was shared by Amirul, a young man from Malaysia who decided to dedicate an emotional tribute to his father, whom he affectionately calls “Abah” (dad). In a viral post, he recalled the enormous sacrifices his father made over decades to support his family.

According to him, his father worked as a factory supervisor, security guard, chef, delivery driver, logistics assistant, and even managed a jewelry store.

He also sold chicken rice at a night market, delivered packages using his car, and even transported coconuts and agricultural products from plantations to earn extra money. He never complained; he only repeated that any effort was worthwhile as long as his children did not go hungry.

However, the years of hard work were also marked by setbacks. When he managed a jewelry store, he was the victim of a fake gold scam carried out by one of his own customers, which left the family in a difficult financial situation. Even so, he continued accepting any job he could find to support his wife and children.

Health problems began some time later. He suffered constant difficulty breathing and swelling in his hands and feet, until doctors confirmed the hardest diagnosis: stage 4 cancer.

The illness severely damaged his kidneys, so he could no longer receive chemotherapy and had to begin dialysis treatment three times a week. Months later, he also began suffering continuous bleeding in his mouth.

Despite everything, Amirul says that his father never stopped showing strength.

“This is my Ultraman”, he wrote, comparing him to the Japanese hero who always finds a way to protect others.

Even now, when he no longer has the strength he once did, he continues encouraging his children to move forward and never forget those who raised them.
