Lucca was barely five years old when he told his mom that he never wanted to eat meat again.

It wasn’t a passing whim. Paty Manterola, a Mexican singer and vegan for years, said that her son made that decision out of pure love for animals, and that she, far from imposing anything, took him to the pediatrician to make sure his diet was appropriate. Over time, her other two children followed the same path: the youngest, Alesso, became a vegetarian after watching a video about shark fishing that left him shocked.

The curious thing is that Manterola never pushed her children toward veganism, even though she practices it herself. “I never imposed it on them”, she said, defending the fact that each one came to that conclusion on their own, observing the world in their own way. Three decisions made in childhood, without pressure from anyone, that they now uphold with complete conviction.
