Neal McDonough, 60, had everything Hollywood has to offer: roles in series such as Band of Brothers and Desperate Housewives, and a rising career. But there was one line he was unwilling to cross: no kissing or sex scenes with other actresses, out of respect for his wife Ruvé Robertson.
In 2010, that decision cost him everything. He was fired from the series Scoundrels after three days of filming, after refusing a scene with Virginia Madsen. Then came silence from the industry for almost two years. “I lost the house, I lost the cars, I lost everything”, the actor said. He also lost control due to alcohol, until a gesture from his colleague Luke Perry helped him get back on his feet.
Today he acts in Yellowstone and Tulsa King, has remained married to Ruvé since 2003, and they have five children. In his latest film, he even convinced his wife to act so they could shoot the kissing scene without needing anyone else.
