Brian Hickerson did not say a single word. It was his attorney, Sloan Ellis, who spoke on his behalf on Thursday, August 20, four days after Hayden Panettiere was found unconscious in an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina.
She was 36 years old. He was there, alongside her brother Zach, when it all ended.
The statement was brief: police found no signs of foul play, the initial autopsy found no trauma, and the case remains open with support from the DEA.
Nothing yet explains what killed the actress who, one day before turning 37, was no longer here. What was documented long ago, however, is the history between them: arrests in 2019 and 2020, eight felony charges, a no-contest plea in 2021, and a recent book in which she herself described the beatings.
Her father, Skip, issued a statement of his own. Her mother, according to Fox News, has already publicly pointed the finger at Hickerson.
