Hours before five members of a family were found dead in Mexico, influencer Cindy Tamez posted a message that now seems chilling.

“Not everyone knows my dark side”, she wrote over a video recorded from inside a vehicle. She then added that she would be capable of “burning down my own house” just to watch the neighbor’s burn, even if she herself were also harmed.
Cindy, whose full name was Cinthia Abigail Tamez Rivera, had tens of thousands of followers on TikTok, where she shared videos about her life and appearance.

On September 30, she and her son Gustavo, 2 years old, were found dead inside a Jeep in Montemorelos, Nuevo León. Three blocks away, inside the family home, authorities found her partner, Leodegario Moya, 28 years old, and her other two children, Christian, 12, and Bruno, 11, also dead.
All had suffered gunshot wounds.
The Prosecutor’s Office’s leading theory is that Tamez allegedly shot her partner and her two older children inside the house. She then allegedly left in the vehicle with young Gustavo, whom she reportedly killed before taking her own life. A .38-caliber handgun was found in the vehicle, and preliminary ballistic analyses bolstered this line of investigation.

But there is another harrowing detail: a 14-year-old who was not part of the family was reportedly inside the home and survived. According to information related to the investigation, the teenager reportedly saw Cindy armed and even witnessed one of the shots, although it is unclear which of the deaths they witnessed.

Authorities continue analyzing security cameras and forensic evidence to reconstruct the family’s final hours. The motive behind the tragedy has not yet been officially established.
Meanwhile, that final message remains one of the case’s most unsettling details: hours before her family was found dead, Cindy had publicly warned that few people knew what she was capable of.
