Inde Navarrette, 25, starred in ‘Obsession’, a movie that cost just $750,000 and ended up grossing more than $300 million worldwide. It should have been the definitive launch of her career. It wasn’t. 🎬

The actress told Complex magazine that after filming, she spent a year and a half without landing a single role. “I didn’t work for a year and a half after Obsession came out… I was auditioning, I did everything… but nothing worked”, she confessed.

To pay her bills, she walked dogs around Los Angeles and streamed video games like Outlast and The Last of Us from a computer she built herself.

Today, with more than 135,000 subscribers on YouTube, 2.9 M. followers on instagram, and being considered for a role in A24’s ‘Goblin’, her story is just beginning to change.

But it leaves an uncomfortable question about the film industry: what’s the point of starring in a box-office hit if you still have to make a living somewhere else? 🐾
