Two helicopters collided in midair over the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro on June 14, 2026. Oliver Tree, 32, died in that accident along with five other people, including 23-year-old Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim. The singer-songwriter was in Brazil as part of his world tour of more than 70 dates. 🌎

What no one knew until today is that weeks earlier, in an interview recorded in April for the Zach Sang Show, Tree had already revealed the details of his will: his family would not receive a single dollar. Instead, he created the foundation “Dr. Oliver Tree’s Art Grants for Baby Geniuses” to distribute his entire estate — present and posthumous — to other artists. A committee made up of people he worked with during his lifetime will decide how the money is distributed. 🎨

“I don’t feel that this wealth belongs to me”, he had said. A phrase that sounds different today. 💔
