On 9/11, a guide dog named Roselle led her blind owner and dozens of people out of the World Trade Center — and stopped to calm a woman before everything collapsed

On September 11, 2001, when the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center, Roselle was on the 78th floor with her blind owner, Michael Hingson. What she did in the following minutes defies any explanation: she calmly guided him down 78 flights of stairs, through the chaos and smoke, while the world was literally falling apart around her.

But there is one detail that changes everything. Halfway through the evacuation, Roselle stopped. Not out of fear — but because a woman was having a panic attack. She gave her kisses until she calmed down. Then she kept going down.

They got out of the building minutes before the tower collapsed. We do not deserve dogs. ❤️
