Levino da Costa Jesus died at the age of 119 in Pará de Minas, Brazil, after living for nearly 2 decades at the Cidade Ozanan nursing home. His case drew attention because he was considered one of the country’s longest-lived men, although his age had not been officially recognized by international organizations.
Born on 6 May 1907 in the rural community of Ascensão, he spent much of his life as a rural worker. Even at a very advanced age, he retained his independence, good humor, and desire to take part in activities, especially those related to music and dancing.
