In an interview with EL PAÍS in New York, while presenting his memoirs “The Steps”, he was asked about body worship and gyms.
His answer was direct: it’s very important, because men need to conquer something to prove their masculinity, and that, according to him, is part of their nature.
He went on with an image that is already being debated on social media: he said only men do crazy things like jumping out of windows or launching themselves on motorcycles, that he doesn’t see women doing them, and that every man needs to test himself to see if he’s brave.
What’s curious is that the same actor admits in his memoirs that this logic cost him dearly. He acknowledged that he wasn’t a very good father and that in his first marriage he was in “warrior mode”.
That’s why he had the idea of conquering the world, and everything else fell by the wayside. He praised his wife Jennifer, who raised his daughters with complete devotion.
