Four years after her boyfriend’s death, Courtney Clenney’s case reached an unexpected conclusion.

The former OnlyFans model, also known as Courtney Tailor, pleaded guilty this Monday to involuntary manslaughter with a deadly weapon in the death of Christian “Toby” Obumseli, who was stabbed in April 2022 inside the Miami apartment they shared.

Clenney had initially been charged with second-degree murder and maintained that she had acted in self-defense during an argument. Her defense claimed that Obumseli had been violent toward her, while his family always rejected that version and maintained that Christian was the victim.

The agreement avoided the trial that was about to begin and established a six-year prison sentence, in addition to five years of supervised release. Due to the time she has already spent in custody, she could be released in approximately two years.

The case had generated enormous attention due to Clenney’s public exposure and the violent relationship she had with Obumseli. Prosecutors had presented the relationship as a conflict-ridden bond marked by episodes of violence, while the defense insisted that she had been a victim of abuse.

With her guilty plea, one of the most high-profile criminal cases involving an adult content creator finally reaches its judicial conclusion.

For Obumseli’s family, however, no agreement can change the fundamental fact: Christian died and can never return home.
