Rebecca Goodwin remembers clearly the day when food vouchers were all she had to feed her two daughters.
This 28-year-old single mother survived for more than a month on those vouchers before opening an OnlyFans account in 2019. She has said that she became homeless and had to ask her health visitor for help getting to a food bank.
Today, she says she earns around 100,000 pounds a month, a figure she has disclosed herself and that has not been independently verified. She says she uses that money to buy houses outright, without mortgages.
On January 23, 2023, she announced her plan on Twitter: to buy eight properties and rent them to low-income families. The example she gave was a three-storey house with four bedrooms, three bathrooms and parking for two cars, fully furnished, for 650 pounds a month, around 800 dollars.
She also explained that she does it not just for the money, but to leave an inheritance for her daughters. She went from counting the days with food vouchers to offering a roof over the heads of people who are where she once was.
