They found her walking alone in a Manhattan park. Her feathers, which should have been white, were completely dyed bright pink. 🕊️💗

The Wild Bird Fund rescuers named her Flamingo and suspect that someone painted her as a living decoration for a baby gender-reveal party, a trend that had already left similar victims before. When they found her, she was malnourished and very weak, barely able to stand.

The team desperately tried to clean the dye off her, but it was already too late. They suspect that the chemicals in the dye and the fumes she inhaled for days irreparably damaged her lungs. Flamingo died a few days after the rescue, without anyone taking responsibility for what they had done to her. 💔
