Yamato Tanooka is 7 years old, and his own parents left him alone on a wooded road in Hokkaido, Japan. 🌲
His crime? Throwing stones at others during a family outing. When they returned to look for him, he was already gone. He was wearing only a T-shirt and jeans, in an area where temperatures drop to 7°C at night, surrounded by bears and undergrowth so dense that police took almost a week to find him.
He walked 5,5 kilometers alone to an abandoned military hut. There, he drank water from a tap and slept on some mattresses, with nothing to eat, for 6 full days. Doctors confirmed that he suffered mild hypothermia.
“I have poured all my love into my son”, said his father, visibly remorseful at a press conference. But the damage had already been done: a punishment that could have cost a 7-year-old child his life. 😔
