Shadae Renee traveled to a village in Cambodia with scissors in hand and bills in her pocket.
There, she bought, one by one, the ponytails that local women decided to sell, including a mother who uses that money to support her family. That same hair ends up being turned into wigs that Shadae sells in the United States for more than 1.800 dollars.
Some say it is a dignified source of income for women who need the money. Others believe it is an outside need turned into cheap raw material for a luxury business. Which side are you on?
