Onur Albayrak had been photographing weddings for 17 years. He had never seen a bride tremble like that.
It was July 5, at Turgut Özal Natural Park in Malatya, Turkey. The young woman was dressed in white and had the lost look of someone who did not want to be there. Albayrak asked her age, and she replied that she was only 15 years old.
The photographer immediately told the groom that he would not do the job with a minor. The man reacted with insults and physical aggression, sparking a tense confrontation between the two. After the incident, Albayrak posted his testimony on Facebook, stating that holding such an event at that age also constitutes a violation. His message had such an impact that more than 100 event venues wrote to him, promising not to organize weddings involving minors again. In Turkey, although the legal age is 18 years old, 15 % of young women are married before reaching that age.
