For millions of people, Mia Khalifa is one of the most recognizable faces on the internet. However, behind her public image lies a much more personal side that few know about: 13 tattoos spread across her body that tell stories about her family, her country of origin, her beliefs, relationships, and some of the most important —and also most difficult— moments of her life.
One. Map of Texas (behind the left ear): She got the outline of the state of Texas tattooed in 2016, when she was already living there. It is a tribute to the place where she made her home in the United States.
Two. Batman (left side): On the left side of her ribs, she has the classic Batman symbol, one of the most discreet designs in her entire collection.
Three. Flintlock pistol (right side): On her right ribs, she sports an antique flintlock pistol. This type of tattoo is often associated with protection, honor, and military history.
Four. “Sabr” (right wrist): The Arabic word “صبر”, which means “Patience”, is tattooed on her wrist. It is one of her best-known designs and represents perseverance in the face of difficulties.
Five. Lips and fingers design (right arm): On the outer part of her right arm, she has an illustration of a mouth between two fingers, an artistic design that stands out for its provocative aesthetic.
Six. Phrase in Arabic (right arm): She has a quote in Arabic tattooed whose approximate translation is: “All the love that went wrong turned my world black”. It is one of the most personal tattoos she has shown publicly.
Seven. Red castle with three stars (right bicep): On her right arm, she also has a small red castle topped with three stars. Mia has never publicly explained the meaning of this design.
Eight. Lebanese Forces cross (left wrist): Probably the most controversial tattoo of all. It corresponds to the emblem of the Lebanese Forces, a Maronite Christian political movement. She said she got it in support of her father after the 2012 Beirut bombing, although years later she stated that she would like to cover it up.
Nine. “Bubba” (right arm): On the inner side of her arm, she has the word “bubba”, an affectionate nickname used in North America to refer to a brother or someone very close.
Ten. Lebanese national anthem (left bicep): On her left bicep, she has the opening lines of the Lebanese national anthem, which can be translated as: “All for our country, for our glory and our flag”. It is one of the tattoos that best reflects the bond she maintains with her country of origin.
Eleven. Red arrow (left wrist): On the lower part of her left wrist, she has a small red arrow. Although she has never explained its meaning, it is often interpreted as a symbol of direction, determination, or progress.
Twelve. Three hearts (right wrist): On the inner side of her right wrist, she has three small hearts outlined in black, one of her simplest and most minimalist tattoos.
Thirteen. Fork and knife (right middle finger): On the middle finger of her right hand, she got a tiny fork tattooed next to a knife. She showed it on social media in 2018 and, although some interpret it as a reference to her taste for gastronomy, she never confirmed a specific meaning.
