Lexi Fretz was getting ready to go to a wedding when she noticed some bleeding.
She went to the hospital and, on June 14, 2013, at 19 weeks pregnant, gave birth to her son Walter Joshua. He lived for about eleven minutes. During that time, his parents and his two sisters held him, and Lexi, who is a photographer, decided to capture every moment.
The photos appeared on her blog and on Facebook, with a warning about how difficult they were to see. They showed a baby with fully formed hands, feet, and face. As she explained, Walter was very active in the womb and, with a few more weeks, would have had the chance to fight for his life. 💔
