Zymire Hughes is 22 years old and had a camera on every time he went out to terrorize people.
During the early morning hours of August 2026, he put on a mask and began pursuing strangers through Center City, Philadelphia, near City Hall and JFK Boulevard. He chased a woman who was exercising until she managed to escape. Beforehand, he asked her if she was ready to die.
It was not an isolated case: at least half a dozen confirmed victims, and as many as twenty people harassed according to reports. Everything was recorded because Hughes broadcast his own attacks on social media. While Philadelphia police gathered evidence and issued an arrest warrant, he was already thousands of miles away, living in Las Vegas since February.
They did not catch him until August 25, nearly two weeks after the first attacks. He now faces charges of terroristic threats, harassment, simple assault, and intimidation, and awaits extradition to Pennsylvania. The question that remains is simple: how many more people would he have terrorized if he had not been identified in time?
