David and Macey Wysong weren’t content with just one photo from their daughter’s first year.
Each month, the Ohio couple dressed little Dianna in a miniature recreation of one of Princess Diana’s most memorable looks. There was a wedding dress, the famous black evening gown known as the ‘revenge dress,’ and even the black sheep sweater. Macey searched for and found each piece; David took the photos and posted all 12 looks on Instagram, where the series went viral.
The tradition ended on the day Dianna turned 1, with a Diana-themed birthday party. David wore a Fly Virgin Atlantic sweater, Macey wore one from Harvard, both wore wigs, and their two older children dressed as royal guards. The girl’s name is no coincidence: she’s named Dianna after her grandmothers, Diane and Anna. Behind the photos lies a story that’s hard to imagine: David said they struggled with infertility for about two years before becoming parents.
