At 90 years old, Toshisuke Kanazawa still trains, lifts weights, and maintains a level of discipline that many young people would struggle to follow.

The Japanese bodybuilder once again drew attention on social media after a photograph of him went viral, surprising thousands of people with his physical condition and, above all, his age.

But Kanazawa does not seem interested in proving that the passage of time does not exist. On the contrary, he acknowledges that his body has changed.

“Every year more wrinkles appear and my physical strength declines”, he has explained.

The difference lies in what he does with those changes: instead of giving up, he tries to overcome them through effort.

His story is even more striking because he remains involved in the world of bodybuilding at an age when most people have already been away from intense training for decades.

One of his sayings sums up his philosophy quite well:

“Although simply being alive is already something incredible, every year more wrinkles appear and physical strength declines. Overcoming it through effort is my way of living”.

The post that once again put him at the center of the conversation accumulated more than 4,5 million views on X, where thousands of users were surprised to discover that the man in the photographs is 90 years old.

Beyond his physique, his story raises an interesting question about aging: how much of what we associate with “getting old” is inevitable, and how much can be changed by maintaining an active life?

For now, Kanazawa seems to have a clear answer: as long as he can continue training, he will keep doing so.
