Fifteen years after one of his most talked-about performances alongside Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull decided to reveal what happened when the singer gave him a sensual dance onstage.
It all happened at the 2011 American Music Awards, when they both performed On the Floor.
During that performance, JLo approached the rapper and made a provocative move in front of him. A photograph of the moment sparked rumors that Pitbull had an erection, which circulated widely in the press.
Now, the singer recalled the anecdote during a public conversation.
First, he expressed his admiration for Jennifer, highlighting how she built her career from the beginning.
Then he decided to tell a more intimate story.
“During rehearsal, Jennifer didn’t make a certain move that she did make when the show started”, he recalled.
And he added with a laugh: “And when she made that move… I got excited”.
The audience burst into laughter, but Pitbull still had one more punchline.
“So that explains the photo, if you know what I mean”, he added.
Although he mistakenly recalled that the performance had taken place at the Billboard Awards, the episode actually took place at the American Music Awards on November 20, 2011.
His confession put back into circulation a photograph that had already caused a stir 15 years ago.
