Most people know Bonnie Rotten for her career in the adult industry, but few know that her body tells a very different story. Even before becoming famous, the American was a horror movie fanatic and decided to turn that passion into a permanent collection of tattoos inspired by zombies, monsters, and films that marked her childhood.
One of the most striking is a huge zombie inspired by the universe of Night of the Living Dead, the first major tattoo she got, which required nearly 13 hours of work. Over the years, that design was joined by spiderwebs across her chest, demons, skulls, macabre creatures, and other motifs influenced by classic horror, as well as references to franchises such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th.
Each new tattoo reinforced the aesthetic that would eventually become her personal trademark.
However, not all of her designs are related to fear. On one of her legs, she has a portrait of the legendary singer Frank Sinatra, one of her favorite tattoos, as well as an illustration of a zombie pin-up named “Bonnie Rotten”.
She liked the character so much that she decided to adopt it as her stage name, never imagining that years later it would be known by millions of people around the world.
Over time, her image became inseparable from that visual identity.
More than simple drawings, her tattoos became a way to express her tastes, influences, and personality, turning her body into a kind of permanent tribute to horror cinema and the alternative culture that had always fascinated her.
Although many of her tattoos are inspired by horror, Bonnie has explained that each one represents a different stage of her life.
