Machine Gun Kelly, the American singer and actor known for his tattoos, punk aesthetic, and appearances in films such as The Dirt, decided to undergo a radical transformation: covering much of the tattoos he had accumulated over the years with a huge black design.

The work was planned to be done over about two years, but MGK wanted to speed up the process and finish it in just two months. To achieve this, he spent as many as 7 hours a day getting tattooed.
The intensity of the sessions eventually took its toll on him. The artist said he began to get sick, had trouble moving some parts of his body, and even felt like he was “dying” while lying on the tattoo bed. He also said his skin began to turn yellow.
Despite everything, he continued until completing the process. The result was a huge “blackout” that covered much of his arms and torso and hid the tattoos that had marked different stages of his life.
What normally would have taken around two years, Machine Gun Kelly decided to endure in just two months.
