For those who grew up watching television in the 90s, her face inevitably became associated with the color pink. Amy Jo Johnson played Kimberly Hart, the first Pink Power Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and became one of the series’ most memorable faces.

She was just 23 years old when the show began airing in 1993. Her previous experience as a gymnast proved perfect for Kimberly, who also practiced gymnastics and went on to become one of the team’s most popular members.

It has been more than three decades since those first adventures, and Amy just turned 56 years old, but she continues to evoke nostalgia in those who remember her dressed in the pink suit.

After leaving Power Rangers in 1995, the actress continued working and appeared in productions such as Felicity and Flashpoint. Over the years, she also began building a career behind the camera as a director, screenwriter, and filmmaker.

And although she decided not to return for the television special celebrating the franchise’s 30th anniversary, she never completely distanced herself from Kimberly. She even returned to that universe from a different perspective by writing the comic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return with Mat Hotson.

Her before-and-after inevitably brings back memories: that young woman who jumped and fought monsters dressed in pink is now 56 years old, but for an entire generation, she will always be the unforgettable Kimberly Hart.
