Aldana and Lucila testified on the night of October 16, 2024, before the Argentine courts. They had arrived that afternoon at the CasaSur hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires, after Liam Payne wrote to them on WhatsApp and offered them $5,000 to spend the day with him.
One of them called the hotel to confirm it was real. Payne even made a video call. Inside, the room was messy and there was aluminum foil; the singer asked them to get him drugs, something they said they could not do.
Five hours later, when they decided to leave, Payne got down on his knees and begged them to stay. Minutes after they left the hotel, he fell from the third-floor balcony and died at age 31. The case remains open nearly two years later.
