A video released by Columbia Police showed the final seconds of Alexander LaMorie’s life, a 25-year-old autistic young man who died after being shot by four officers in front of his apartment building in Maryland, United States.
The footage shows Alex holding a knife while repeating that he no longer wanted to go on living. One of the officers tried to convince him to drop the weapon and begged him several times: “Please, don’t make me do this”. But when the young man moved toward the officers, the police opened fire. Seconds later, Alexander fell to the ground.
His mother says the young man had been the victim of a cyber scam and was going through a severe emotional crisis.
