He seemed like a quiet boy… but his texts hide a dangerous obsession.
A police officer arrived at his home with accusations that sent chills down everybody’s back. No one understood how this boy, so seemly harmless, could be linked to such disturbing social media comments. When he was directly asked about the @incel_revolution_soon account, he didn’t deny it. He tried to downplay the situation, claiming it was just “a silly Instagram account”, but the officer’s questions became more and more uncomfortable.
His mother watched on in disbelief. To her, her child had always been a quiet, reserved and almost invisible boy. He spent hours in front of his computer, silent, without getting in trouble. She couldn’t imagine that behind that seemingly innocent routine his a darker world, full of barely contained rage and thoughts she could never imagine came from him.
As the conversation went on, phrases that raised alarms started coming up. Comments about violence, hate and destruction that the boy said were all “jokes”. Still, the tone and frequency of such messages showed something else. The boy’s mother, completely disturbed, couldn’t believe such words could come out of her little boy.
Behind it all, an uncomfortable truth came out: the teen tried to become a voice in the “Incel World”, a group of men marked by their anger and resentment. In this environment, rejection turns into hatred and words can quickly escalate into dangerous ideas. Authorities’ concern was not just about what he said but about how far he would be willing to go if not stopped in time.
