Philip Duthie, 41, appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court following an incident in April 2021 in which Kimberley Cameron lost her life.

The Thames Valley Police officer was responding to an emergency in Aylesbury when he was driving at 96 kilometers per hour in an area with a 64-kilometer-per-hour speed limit. The 27-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was struck by the police vehicle, which was traveling in the wrong lane.

Despite the efforts of medical services, the teaching assistant died at the scene. The defendant, charged with negligent driving, is awaiting his next hearing at the Old Bailey on May 26.
