On October 1, police in Montgomery Township, New Jersey, received a request to check on the welfare of the residents of a house on Wild Azalea Lane. They couldn’t locate them.

The next day, officers entered the home, valued at 1,75 million dollars according to Zillow, and found three bodies with gunshot wounds to the head. Lora, 62, and her daughter Sloane, 24, were in separate rooms. David Grodnick, 61, senior vice president of the insurance agency Land Services USA, still had the gun in his hand.

The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office classified the deaths of Lora and Sloane as homicides and David’s as a suicide. It described the incident as isolated, with no threat to the community, and said the investigation is ongoing. It is not known how long they had been dead or what happened beforehand.
