Dave Agovic had his hands full in the kitchen. At L’Osteria Mondello, his pizzeria in Cheyenne, Wyoming, more than 40 pizzas were being made at the same time, so many that the restaurant stopped taking orders and warned customers of waits of up to two hours.

Amid all that chaos, a call came in: 18 pizzas, about 300 dollars’ worth, for a children’s wrestling club that wanted them quickly. The team had them ready in about 40 minutes, that Friday, August 14. But no one came to pick them up.
Agovic then called the number used to place the order. The person who answered had no idea what he was talking about. It had been a prank, and 18 freshly baked pizzas were cooling on the counter. That’s when someone on the team asked: “Why don’t we take them to the hospital?”.

Ryan Lemley, a former employee who had worked at the restaurant for more than two years, happened to stop by and offered to help. The two of them delivered the pizzas to the emergency room at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. The restaurant summed it up this way on Facebook: “A somewhat frustrating situation turned into a good deed, and hopefully the pizzas helped make someone’s night a little better”.
