“Go to another church!”. A priest in Spain lost his patience during a mass when a child began to cry and ended up asking his mother to leave the church with him. The moment was captured on video and sparked controversy.
The priest was trying to continue with his sermon, but the little one wouldn’t stop crying. “It’s very difficult to preach without notes while the child is screaming”, he complained before turning to the mother: he asked her to go to another church to hear the sermon. The scene took place in Valdepeñas, a town in Ciudad Real.
What made the episode even more striking was that this would not be the first time this priest had reacted this way to a baby crying during a mass. In 2025, he had already been involved in a similar incident. This time, the moment even made it onto Spanish television, where a panelist joked: “Masses are going to start being ‘adults only’”.
