Priyanka Chopra, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, shines a spotlight on how children are raised: “A real man is NOT violent”

Priyanka Chopra has been saying for years that feminism is not about denigrating men.

This time she was more direct. “A real man is not violent and a real woman is not tolerant”. The second part of the message points to the root cause: “Society tells boys it’s okay to be violent, and then women simply become tolerant”.

What she proposes is to shift the problem elsewhere. The question is no longer how much a woman should endure. It becomes what children are taught from a young age and what they are forgiven for.

Chopra, an Indian actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2016, had already said that “feminism needs men”. And that it is about being able to choose without being judged, with the same freedom they have had for centuries.

Tolerating abuse is not a virtue, but a learned habit.
