Jammy arrived at Marin Humane in California, barely able to move.
He weighed 8 kilos, when his small body should have been carrying only 4,5. His owner could no longer care for him and surrendered him to the shelter, where the team immediately noticed two things: the contagious smile of this 11-year-old dog and how difficult it was for him to take each step. Days later, they discovered 13 bladder stones, which they removed in emergency surgery.
“He is friendly and calm, and gets along with everyone”, said Julia Lamont, of the Marin Humane staff. Jammy spent time in a foster home and has now returned to the shelter in search of a permanent home. He is already down to 7,3 kilos and moving much better. He loves cuddling, being in charge on walks, and playing with wand toys for cats, even though he is a dog. All he needs is someone willing to accompany him until he reaches his ideal weight.
