On December 13, 2006, Danelle Ballengee went for a run through a canyon in Utah, United States, with her dog Taz. However, she fell and fractured her pelvis, leaving her trapped in a hard-to-reach place.

For more than 52 hours, the athlete remained injured and endured the low temperatures, while her dog stayed by her side. Desperate, she finally asked Taz to find help.
On December 15, the dog found a group of rescuers and led them to where his owner was. Thanks to him, Danelle was rescued and taken to a hospital.

After months of recovery, the woman returned to running, while Taz became the hero who saved her life.
