Slugger wouldn’t move from the sack of onions. The field was flooding in the rain, and he sat there, soaked and paralyzed with fear, after being abandoned. The Dallas Dog RRR team found him weak, hungry, and covered in ticks.
He seemed to be waiting for his family to come back, but nobody returned. They named him Slugger because he fought to survive. In the weeks that followed, he started smiling again, playing, and piling toys on his bed.
Then a couple fell in love with him and adopted him. The puppy who had waited alone in the rain now has a family to come home to.
